NEW PLAYERS
Welcome to Aion Teleos! This is our CR meme, for old and new players alike to introduce themselves and to begin plotting for the month ahead. As you're settling into the game, here are a few things you should note:
❖ NEW PLAYER NOTES:
❖ NEW PLAYER NOTES:
◆ SECT ATTUNEMENT: New characters will have to declare their sect attunements on the Attunement page. Those who are starting in the Kenoma will be attuned as of the start of their introduction, but those who have been taken by the Pleroma may take up until the end of the month to do so. Alternatively, they can attune almost immediately if they are unconflicted about their desire to fight the Regent. The main restriction caused by not attuning to the Pleroma right away will be that unattuned characters cannot travel to the Greentruth rebellion stronghold.
◆ NETWORK (COMMUNION): As soon as a character is attuned to either the Pleroma or the Kenoma, they will be able to access Communion, Aion Teleos's network system. This is written about in the game's info pages, but more details can be found here. This skill can be found by accident or taught by another character.
◆ AION GLAMORS: To help ease gameplay for characters who will stick out like a sore thumb in the setting, we want to make it known that there will be a relatively weak 'glamor' type spell available to learn in Greentruth for new Pleroma. This will have to be pursued ICly, but it is out there, and will be achievable by Tier 1 attunement.

CHARACTER INTRO MINGLES
There will be no mod posted mingle log set up for new players; instead, we are encouraging veteran characters to set up mingles in the various game locations. Our reasoning for this is that, at least on the Pleroma side, there is no set mingle point that will be, by default, accessible to all characters, meaning that some IC thought and proactivity will have to go into how best to accommodate them. Additionally, this will be an opportunity for characters to ICly flex their leadership skills and receive IC reputation (and a small IC gift) for doing so. If you make a mingle log, makes sure to include it in your notable actions on your AC!
We won't leave you entirely without direction, though! Below are some ideas to get people started, and to give an idea of what the environment in each location will be. We will be happy to answer any questions and help with logistics where needed. Alongside this, new players are welcome to make their own open posts on the logs comm.

◆ ACHAMOTH: Once new arrivals have accepted the Kenoma, they will be welcomed into the Citadel along with the rest of their kindred. Most things in the "A Deity's Welcome" and "Exploration" prompts of this log will still apply (we will be converting all of this into a separate info page ASAP but we haven't had the time this month) and so it can be referenced to get an idea of accommodations. The major difference is the lack of dinner time with the Regent; according to their apparent second in command (Xishen, for those that know her), they are preoccupied at the moment, and have asked for the other Kenoma to take charge when it comes to catching up the new recruits. All of Achamoth's facilities and resources are at their disposal to do so.
Achamoth's citizens are as excited as ever to see fresh Aion faces, and will be quick to prostrate themselves before their new gods. They will be eager to offer places for the Kenoma Aions to meet in. Though it is now the Innocent's Moon, it largely goes unremarked on by the residents here, and if it is, only scornfully.
◆ GODSBLOOD: Once the shrines have stopped producing hatchlings, Godsblood will be the first stop for most Pleroma newcomers. By either swimming up through the ocean waters or taking a series of narrow tunnels to the surface, they will find themselves on this edge of this coastal city. It is much the same as it is in this linked post, though the Lover's Festival is now over. While most Aions are capable of blending in thanks to Horos's highly diverse biology, those that are taurs or completely non-mammalian may need some help from other Pleroma to get around without arousing suspicion. Godsblood resists the Regent's control, but it is far from completely safe. Characters may have to work together to find a place to house these new arrivals, whether that be in a safe part of the city or the nearby mountains.
There are seemingly no large festivals planned for the month of Inoseri, but in contrast with the Moon of the Innocent, there does seem to be a sense of unrest. Word of the conflicts at the shrines is spreading around, along with the realization that both Aion sects are now active. It's an ill portent for those old enough to remember the last Aion war. Regardless of the Pleroma's intent, there are those among the people here that resent the fact that their resistance may bring about another era of suffering, and will be suspicious of any new faces they see. At the same time, there are those that are enticed by this new chance to hope, and may be willing to put themselves on the line to see it flourish.
◆ GREENTRUTH: Only those that have officially attuned to the Pleroma will be able to take the portal to Greentruth, a magical passage hidden in a secure location beneath the city streets. They can be shown the way by those that know it, but discretion is of the utmost concern. Upon arriving in the heart of this rebellion stronghold, they will find the atmosphere is more lively and hopeful than it has been for decades. The resurgence of Kenoma has revitalized the Resistance and travel between Greentruth and the smaller settlements is at an all time high as materials and specialists move where needed. Aions are sought after by locals for insight and advice on larger projects as well as smaller personal notes of interest ranging from disputes between neighbors and what kind of wood would be best for this bow. Aions may not have all the answers, but will be encouraged to engage so they can better establish their presence and gain insight to the inner workings of the forest.
Inoseri is known as a time of peace and serenity, but not for the local wildlife. It's mating season for a species of forest dinosaur that is known for it's loud distinct call. This trumpeting sound can be heard for miles and will be nearly constant at the beginning of the month. This is equally frustrating for Greentruth residents as it is for other fauna. Aions will find that animals are more unruly than usual and hunting will be difficult, so any assistance provided to the Greentruth hunters will be appreciated. They will just have to hope they do not cross paths with a would be dinosaurian suitor.
There will be a mission styled event happening later in the month which will call both sects towards the city of Venera. ICly characters will not become aware of this until the plotting post goes up. Meanwhile, as the month of Inoseri begins, all Innocents will feel a strange sense of presence... almost as if there is someone standing with them, even when they are alone.Achamoth's citizens are as excited as ever to see fresh Aion faces, and will be quick to prostrate themselves before their new gods. They will be eager to offer places for the Kenoma Aions to meet in. Though it is now the Innocent's Moon, it largely goes unremarked on by the residents here, and if it is, only scornfully.

FUN FACTS: My hands are always so cold, help. I do stuff with comics and indie VNs, so I'm usually crying sweatily over my computer in my little goblin cave. Also I read an absolutely stupid amount of manga so if you ever want recommendations in almost any genre, we should chat, fingerguns.
NAME: Minegishi Gen
CANON: Boy's Abyss
LEGACY: Lover
SECT: Kenoma
CHARACTER PITCH: Horrible Troubled Teen with anger issues. Local nuisance, originally a normie, has punched way more people in this game so far than he really should have. Actually deeply heartbroken and traumatized but, like, who in this game isn't saddled with five tons of baggage so he should honestly get his shit together??? Unhealthily reckless, fight-happy and kind of a petulant asshole, but if you catch him at the right times he can just be, like, a regular, garden-variety shitty teenager with the normal amount of attitude and deadpan sass; he also tends to mellow out if people are a little patient with him at first. He does get ferociously protective over the few people he chooses to like, and there's tiny traces of a normal, good person buried somewhere deep down there but hoo boy ... is it really worth the trouble of getting there???
DESIRED CR: Honestly, anyone who's willing to tolerate Gen in any capacity would be grand. Characters who would be willing to let some petulant teenage bullshit slide will probably get a mellower version of his usual lip, and once he does start warming up to people, Gen tends to consider them very much 'his' to defend and keep an eye on. Despite his atrocious attitude (and deeply self-sabotaging nature), he's very lonely and Sad deep down inside, and would be tsundere-ly grateful for people who can tolerate him.
OFFERED CR:
➡ Despite what I said up there, Gen is basically a walking negative CR machine, so ... ! He's grudgingly accepted his role as one of the Regent's stooges, which means he's on the aggressive side when it comes to handling Pleroma folks. Though not a super-powerful combatant, he has gained enough magic to be a thorn in people's sides, so if any Pleroma folks are looking for someone to fight with, he's more than available as an even/easy match!
➡ But! He's also a combative teenager, so he has no qualms about feuding against fellow Kenoma folks, either. If anyone wants to have a shitty, snippy, argumentative relationship with a 6'1" teen, he's more than available.
➡ Fellow normies to bond with. Despite his newly awakened powers, he still essentially hates all this fantasy nonsense and will warm up a little more quickly to people who are familiar with modern day Japan, or even just seem ... y'know, normal. Please can they talk about, like, sneakers or shitty phone games or the latest seasonal item from McD's or something.
➡ Training/sparring partners. Not knowing what else to do with himself, he's taken to training pretty diligently in both physical combat and magic. Notably, he's not that good with either yet, but he's also not at all averse to taking/giving blows and would thus be up for sparring against people of any skill level! He wants to grow stronger, so people willing to either give him pointers and/or just indulge him in an afternoon-long fistfight would earn big (if unspoken) plus points in his book.
➡ Youths. Despite everything else going on with him, he's ultimately just a shitty teenager who likes shitty teenage things. People around his age will probably be treated with a little less caution, and he's not above mundane, normie hangout sessions when the time is right -- shopping, chit-chatting, what have you.
➡ Functional (or concerned?) adults ........ My god he's never had a single good role model in his life and it shows. Having to worry about this pain in the ass is such a thankless task, and he's generally quite prickly about people who show concern towards him, but that sort of attention also isn't something he easily forgets about, either. This would probably be a somewhat slow-burn option, especially because he's been really badly hurt by a parental figure in the past, but enough patience in this vein would probably earn his unconditional loyalty. Eventually.
PLOT HOOKS: Gen is a grudging Kenoma who isn't exactly subtle about hating it. Though his circumstances back home were miserable enough that he'd be happy to see it gone, he still pines for parts of it, as well as having some doubts about how fundamentally 'right' it is to see everything obliterated. He does fight for the Regent and throws hands with Pleroma folks whenever the chance arises, but definitely leans more on the side of aimless anger (and wanting to avoid punishment) than true devotion to the cause. Gen definitely isn't above being swayed to the Pleroma's side, though it would take some time and would probably be more out of self-preservation than true belief in their cause. Still, he would absolutely waver in the face of enough persuasion from Pleroma folks, and I'd absolutely love to explore things in that vein! Or, y'know, if Pleroma folks want a horrible mangy dog snapping at their heels, he's available for that too!
EVENT PLANS: Nnnnnnothing specific, I fear! I'll probably throw him into mingles to hassle newcomers, and I'm available for basically any shenanigans around Achamoth that might come about!
ANYTHING ELSE? Everyone forced to endure Gen's presence, probably:
(Also, I do know that playing against confrontational, aggressive (and frankly somewhat unsavory) characters isn't everyone's cup of tea, so I have an easy opt-out post right here for anyone who doesn't want to deal with all that!)

Thread with me anyway though, even though both I and Eustace are eusless
no subject
no i'm kidding (but not really), but i'd love to see things develop in that direction someday! maybe that's when eustace can carry gen, too
ALSO yeah, i definitely want to thread with you more! i haven't forgotten my threat/promise that gen's going to rudely touch eustace's ears without warning, let's make it happen!!!
no subject
BUT NO i look forward to whatever the future brings no matter what it is, positive or negative 😳 but i especially look forward to gen yanking eustace's ears one day

Really just here with my hands held out for a pittance at some point because I enjoyed our TDM thread a lot

He'll definitely prod at her if he notices her lurking around at the mingle, if that would work for you!
no subject
Gray's typical company is objectively engineered to be selfish and self-absorbed, but subjectively they're all nice to her, so she's got a strong muscle for observations in the nature of "yea these people don't function like humans but I like them for these other reasons"... Gen can be mean to her and she can take it, probably! 👍👍
no subject
So for sure, he'll understand a lot of Gen's feelings if he gets to know him. He's also generally very patient and empathetic with kids/teens, so overall he'll try offer his support and advice, and he's patient enough that longterm development is definitely doable for him. He also knows what it's like to be betrayed by a parent figure, so... :')
no subject
I can definitely keep an eye out for him on the mingle, though alternatively, I think starting these two off in some sort of training/sparring situation might get Gen to respect (or at least not actively disrespect) Barnaby a little quicker, if that might interest you! I'd be happy to roll with whatever works for you as long as I can get to hassle poor Barnaby!
no subject
Sparring sounds good; timing-wise I think the mingle will be going up tonight so we can have them meet/handwave that they met in passing there, and I can post an open log later in the month for sparring, if that works for you!

1. can't wait for when they find some excuse to open up to each other further and some horrible things get explained :')
2. he would absolutely be a sparring partner... getting stronger is a good thing, a+++ approval, will help
no subject
Also I'd adore getting to thread them sparring or training sometime, as two former normies getting used to their abilities. Kick this horrible child's ass, Amos, it's for the greater good.
no subject
And yes! Two normies gotta figure it out, surely with limited issue. But oh, he will do some ass kicking. Gen said to not treat him like a child so absolutely no holding back there, buddy.
no subject
That said at this rate he's definitely going to have to glass her except it's going to play out like a pie gag where instead of cream it's blood... I close my eyes at the mental image. Would you be interested in having them run into each other again under maybe sillier circumstances, or just sit back and wait to see how the Meddling Adulting plays out first? I'm definitely always happy to build natural progression, but I am also weak to dumb shenanigans which in our case things may or may not be too sour for?
no subject
And we can definitely do something at the mingle if you'd like! My embarrassed confession here is that I've been lowkey stalking Ciel's thread with Eustace and since it looks like it won't have resulted in any direct action (probably?) in the short term, Gen probably wouldn't have cottoned onto Ciel being a snitch before the party. I think. So I think they could potentially end up in Shenanigans! It also won't hurt that Gen will have a drink or four in him forcing him to be a little more chill, so!
