GAME OPENING
Welcome to Aion Teleos's first OOC mingle, as well as its first event plotting post! In the future these two things may be posted separately, but given that the event will be posted on Friday, it made the most sense to combine them for the game's opening. The general details of the coming event will be posted below to give you an idea of what your characters will be doing for the next month. Please note that sects will not be confirmed until later in the month, depending on your character's reaction to the intro event.

◆ NETWORK: Following this event, the communion network will be active! These are awakened as part of choosing a sect. Pleroma characters won't receive any immediate instructions on how to use these powers, but they are welcome to figure them out on their own. Kenoma will have it explained to them by certain NPCs in the Regent's forces.
◆ TIMELINE: The timeline for the for this first month will be a bit condensed. The event itself will ICly be occurring over the period of a bit over a week, but playtime has been scheduled to last until the end of the month. Timing wise, the events of the TDM will have been considered to happen in the first half of the Horos equivalent of March. The intro event will happen in the second half of March. From there, the timeline should go back to a 1:1 ratio.

THE EMPTY THRONE
The ritual promised in the game's first TDM is at hand. Escorted down to a massive cavern beneath the ruins, characters will made to participate in a disquieting ceremony - one that invokes the Kenoma and forcefully infects them with it. Trapped within the cavern by their captors, they'll be forced to wait out the infection's effects, with only sparse supplies being offered to them and clothing that does nothing to stand up against the cold of these subterranean ruins.
Your character initial attunement will ultimately be defined by their reaction to the Kenoma they've been infected with. There are two main options:

A) They reject its influence, survive its detrimental effects, and their perseverance cultivates the presence of the Pleroma. After a week or so they will be able to expel the Kenoma entirely, attune to the first tier of Pleroma, and have any powers they're missing return.
B) The presence of the Kenoma speaks to them on a spiritual level, their own despair responding to it. Though they may struggle at first, eventually they succumb, surrendering to its influence and being informed of the Regent's plans through it. Characters that accept Kenoma will be allowed out of the cavern, as long as they stay in the area and cooperate with a new NPC that will be present. Their powers will return as soon as they surrender to the Kenoma.

These include persistent dark thoughts, accidental psychic communication with other characters, involuntary transformations in line with Aion changes but based on negative self conception, and general physical illness. Your character should be affected by at least one of these things.
◆ COMPETITIVE SURVIVAL: The soldiers are giving characters a limited amount of supplies and are not attempting to distribute it evenly. Hoarding supplies is an option, and will likely result in others going hungry and/or freezing.
◆ PERSUASION: Characters who accept the Kenoma will essentially swap over to being part of the military force trapping people in the caverns. They may receive orders from an NPC asking them to 'persuade' characters who have not succumbed to the Kenoma yet by whatever means necessary, as long as it isn't killing them or using mind control.
All of this will be fleshed out further in the actual event post, this summary is just to give you an idea of what to plan for. CHARACTER PITCH: I'm just gonna c&p what I put on his app bc I'm lazy:
Hubert is, simultaneously, a professional simp, a career butler, and a full-time vampire larper. In most of the routes in Three Houses, he's the dragon to Edelgard's climax boss (even final boss, in Azure Moon's case). He spends most of his time deliberately acting Villainous As Fuck to an honestly comedic degree and the rest of it talking about how great Edelgard is every other breath. Even she thinks it's annoying! There is a YouTube compilation of him cackling evilly and he has probably practiced it in front of the mirror. He has definitely killed several people, both on the battlefield and as strategic assassinations. Despite his ridiculousness, he's also very intelligent (in a conniving sort of way), skilled in magic, strongly principled, and actually has the potential to be quite kind if you're lucky enough to have him like you. (That's, uh, pretty hard to do though)
DESIRED CR: First and foremost, people who don't take him seriously. PLEASE make fun of him. He is a nerd. Shove him in a locker (success not guaranteed). On a more sincere note, I love that slow-burn development kind of CR (of any kind!), so any character patient or stubborn enough to keep trying with him would be greatly appreciated. Hubert isn't actually a bad dude deep down, he's just very, very prickly (and also down with murder).
OFFERED CR: It would definitely be easiest to cultivate negative CR with him, and he makes a habit of being very condescending and snide, so if you like having your character butt heads with people he'd be happy to oblige. He LOVES to insult people for no fucking reason. However, he also has a soft spot for underdog types, so if you have someone who is more timid and might need some help asserting themselves, he'd actually be a great candidate for it! He's very loyal and actually pretty honest, he just doesn't bother mincing words lol. Finally, he has a lot of experience in using magic so he might be able to help some normies come to terms with newfound powers, if that's needed. Also available if someone wants to learn how to assassinate people.
PLOT HOOKS: I pulled Hubert from the end of Azure Moon route. For those unfamiliar with FE3H, this means he's grappling with the realization of His Greatest Possible Failure--the death of his emperor and the collapse of what she's spent her entire life (and his by extension) trying to achieve. I'm planning on having that rock-bottom mindset be a large part of what drives him to the Kenoma sect, but I'd love opportunities to start working through that with any CR, too. He's gonna be walking a fine line for a bit and I'm intending to mostly play it by ear.
EVENT PLANS: Hubert will actually be resisting the Kenoma influence as much as he possibly can, viewing it essentially an attempt at a torture scenario and will likely be digging in his heels out of spite as much as anything else. Despite that, I actually do want him to go Kenoma, so I would love if anybody wants to work with me on building situations to whittle him down a little bit! I'll almost certainly be engaging with the sickness mechanics but Hubert would also be one to try to seize and distribute supplies as much as possible, if your character would struggle with the situation and need some assistance.
ANYTHING ELSE? I work 12hr hospital shifts so my tagging speed is probably gonna be pretty uneven, please bear with me and I will try to backtag as much as I can!!!! 🙏🙏 Relatedly, I apologize to anyone I have TDM threads with, my IRL has also been a bit in flux but I do plan to get those rolling again before the event goes up since I have several days off.
