EVENT #5: WRAP UP

Event Wrap Up
CONCLUSION
After Vaeka has been rescued and the Kenoma come to the end of their hit list, the fighting will gradually come to an end. With both sects returning to their respective territories, each with their own wins and losses, only time will tell the full story of the effects their actions have had.

KEY EVENTS
◆ VAEKA ESCAPES: After being tortured by Emet-Selch, Vaeka manages to escape the Kenoma's clutches before her execution day with the help of the Pleroma. In particular, Johnny and Syrlya managed to infiltrate her cell while the Kenoma were preoccupied with fighting both in and outside of the prison. She will be being escorted to Greentruth for the time being.

◆ LUCKY NUMBER 7: A group of traitorous Kenoma and Cid Garlond encounter a mysterious Veneran being hunted by Achamite soldiers.

◆ RETURN OF THE INNOCENT: Drawn in by Estinien's panic at nearly being overwhelmed by old foes, the Innocence entity makes another appearance, temporarily taking Estinien's body as its vessel. As a result, the Regent is forced to reach out to save Makoto from the entity's clutches, bestowing upon him a mysterious power.

◆ HIMEKA & ABEL'S CAPTURE: Due in part to the Innocence entity lashing out at their perceived broken promise, Himeka and Abel are overwhelmed by its presence. Taking advantage of the situation, Emet-Selch and Ciel capture them and take them to Achamoth. Several NPCs observed the fight and rough descriptions of those involved is findable by anyone with social ties in Godsblood. This even occured on Day 9 of the event.

◆ TRAITORS BETRAYED: Liem and Barnaby are caught betraying the Kenoma's cause in Venera and are captured and returned to Achamoth for reeducation.

AFTERMATH
In the aftermath of the battles in Venera and Godsblood, things will carry on as normal for the time being. Both cities' population are clearly riled by events, with Venera drawing inward to protect itself and Godsblood in a state of disbelief and cautious optimism about the fact that the Pleroma have seemingly won against the Regent's forces. Talk of the Pleroma in Godsblood is still cautious but more positive than it has been in the past.

IMPORTANT NOTES
◆ REGENT'S RECEPTION: Despite their failure in Godsblood and mixed success in Venera, the Regent will not be issuing any punishments... at least, not to anyone that wasn't actively betraying their cause. Unfortunately, there are quite a few in that number. Though it may take some time, those working against the Kenoma's aims are far from safe. There will be a mod post going for those that have been captured during this event.

◆ AIONS EXPOSED: If your character has been fighting in the streets in either city without adequate disguise, there is a chance that their appearance has been seen and noted by the NPC populace. If your character has been using special precautions to avoid this, please let us know below. Otherwise, notoriety will partly come down to luck and it will be assumed that there is a chance their activities were observed.

◆ VENERAN REFUGEES: Thanks to the efforts of several Pleroma, Venerans saved by the Pleroma will be receiving passage to Godsblood. Those receiving them at Godsblood's docks will allow them to escape into the general populace for the time being, and will avoid any questioning as to their locations.

◆ RETAKING GODSBLOOD: In the aftermath of the failed execution, Bloodites will be retaking the prison where Vaeka was being held and the Regent's envoy will be officially leaving the city.

Will we be hearing from the Regent as far as like... their general reaction to how everything unfolded? (I am just curious)

Liem did make efforts to avoid notice while he was performing his investigations and treacheries, but only using nonmagical methods. Near the beginning of the event, he acquired local Veneran clothing in order to blend in better with the populace, including a hat and sunglasses (for that Veneran summer sun!). Whenever possible, he carried activities out under cover of darkness. And of course he kept interactions with Pleroma to quiet, out-of-the-way locations whenever possible.

Notably, the fight that ended in his capture did take place at dusk.

Matt has been wearing a scarf to hide his shard during questioning/info-gathering threads.

Later in the event, he started traveling with an invisibility spell up. Though then he DID attack a Veneran rebel in the street and got dragon-tackled by Estinien. It was at night and in an out-of-the-way area, but that definitely involved a lot of yelling ...

Despite moving to help the Pleroma prepare in advance for Vaeka's rescue, and taking part in the tail end (eventually) of getting her out of the city, Ernesto went out of his way not to fight any Kenoma in public. His only fight took place inside the prison during the wee hours of the morning to rescue Rand, and any movement around the prison has been done utilizing less traveled routes to avoid both local and Kenoma notice.

In Venera, Silco attempted to do most takedowns stealthily, either in their homes or otherwise. He stalked his targets subtly, or using his invisibility powers, which ensured that he was pretty much not identified around the city for the most part. If he was watching targets, or talking to NPCs, he attempted to get information without identifying himself as an Aion -- and as always, he keeps his shard covered by his clothing.

HOWEVER, in his thread with Eustace, he did take the target down on a relatively deserted part of the street, however he and Eustace did get into a fight with the target and his bodyguard. There was little power usage, and they took care of them quickly, but there was a bit of a street brawl going on down there, which may have been a bit more easily identified than his other attempts to apprehend the targets.

Emet made a point to wear a hood while doing work within the city, but he could have been recognized as part of the arriving Envoy as noted here.

He had one battle on the outskirts of the city which made no effort to be discreet. However, it was dark outside at the time. Citizens within the city likely saw use of very obtrusive fire spells.

Childe has worn a mask and/or cloak, but it's possible Vaeka got a good look at his face when he removes it to attempt to to convey she needed to be smarter about her reactions to Emet-Selch to avoid unnecessary treatment. She should have been in pain enough to not be able to really get a good look, but since he and Vaeka practically have the same hair color and his eyes are very striking, she may remember those two things. Not sure if she matters.

As far as incidents outside in Godsblood, Childe revealed no aion powers in public, and didn't use any while actively guarding the jail whether from the inside or outside. When he was outside guarding, he did it from the rooftops and out of sight of almost all NPCs.

When he arrived with the other Kenoma in Godsblood he wore his replica Fatui mask and a hood, so NPCs will probably remember the mask most of all but not who is underneath it.

However, he made a brief crossover to Venera via portal, and Childe did use his hydro powers to summon his whale construct there, which I will admit was decently sized and anyone nearby would have seen it and further would have heard it. However, they would have had a hard time identifying it being his power as the whale appeared before he did while Barnaby and Rita were publicly fighting and they would have ended up needing to run like hell to avoid getting swept away from the area (no death, just an unfun short ride with the water.)

Barnaby also did not know where the whale came from, but it's still possible someone else saw it and connected it to Childe in the chaos. I'll leave that to mod decision. This is what it looks like if unfamiliar.

The Veneran that Barnaby was trying to save from Majorita absolutely did see him, but he's getting killed so I'm not sure if he'll be able to pass anything along to other NPCs before he gets offed.

edit: sorry for the edits, just more clarification. It looks like the fight between Barnaby and Rita was not in the main streets of Venera and was probably mostly desserts. The whale would have been conjured to be the length of a school bus for this incident and place as Childe isn't out too damage too much property.

For the most part, Makoto cycled through a small number of glamours when doing his work on the streets of Venera, attempting to look as much like a nondescript young Veneran as possible. Though one could make a criticism that the glamour he used by far the most often was just that of himself, as he had appeared as a human, for the relative ease of the glamour, and that included when both investigating and capturing one of the marks on the hit list with Gen as well as when he and J apprehended Barnaby. The former he did earlier in the week and in broad daylight (though he was trying a bit more to blend in), though the latter was later on and very early in the morning.

When confronting Liem and Hayame, however, he did not use a glamour (purely for the Drama of the moment). Given that this was later on in the event and occurred at dusk, there were essentially no passersby on the street and visibility was somewhat limited, though it's entirely possible he could have been seen from nearby buildings.

So maybe he will consider using a different glamour, if he ever has to go back to Venera...

Ah, yes, sorry! I recalled that being jounced would cause the illusion to drop, but forgot about the combat/abilities stipulation.

In the two that I mentioned, I would say ... yes. (The threads either aren't there yet or just got there, so I'll be sure to write that in.) In the thread with J and Barnaby, Makoto is recovering from injuries he sustained in the fight with Liem and Hayame, so he's more acting as support for J. But he did use an ability, so it would have dropped then. In the thread with Gen, he's being much more careful, and it's likely the only time he might use an ability or enter combat is when infiltrating the storehouse or its saferoom, so they will be out of immediately prying eyes. He would also probably re-cast the glamour before exiting.

Syrlya has been utilizing his invisibility magic, mostly to avoid being noticed when going to bunk with people with the resistance/watch the area near the tunnels and in some cases to clear distance to the jail cell without getting stopped. It's not 100% upkeep so he's tried to combine it with good ol' hiding the the shadows/alleys.

When engaging with Kenoma/Achamites though, he's been very visible and hasn't bothered to obscure himself.

Caitlyn remained on the rooftops of Godsblood during her entire skirmish with Misa, and while she was using her soul-rifle power, she had been wearing a hood and keeping her face and body obscured. The clothes she wore during the skirmish were burned in Greentruth. NPCs might have noticed the sound of gunfire, and might have seen her operating, but she tried to at least obscure herself from the Godsblood populace so she can move more freely.

Ciel arrived to Godsblood with the Kenoma envoy wearing a hood and a mask that obfuscates her facial features entirely, which includes hair style and hair color. She remained inside the building as guard for most of their stay and changed attire the one time she went out for personal reasons. During Himeka and Abel's capture, she wore dark colors and her hair blended in with the night, she also suffered a disfiguring face wound from Abel's Krusnik blood that could make identification difficult while carrying the bodies back to the building the Kenomas occupied (to portal back to Achamoth).

The mask she originally wore was burned off by Rand's channeling during his brief bout of captivity. She also suffered a face burn there, but it healed within a day. Vaeka would also know what she looks like, as Ciel was the guard inside the cell with her when the Pleromas successfully rescued her.

Meteion, while in Venera, made an attempt to conceal her shard (but only that) with a mantle. She also has been using her starbird form to be more unobtrusive while in the city (and while being a rebellious little thing).

Updated per my question: Meteion will be doing the former, but doing the latter only until she slips into the Untouched status, likely while interacting with the Venera Aion. She'll panic a bit and do physical sneaking around as best she can, then.
