EVENT #5: SOVEREIGN CITIZENS

Sovereign Citizens
All across Horos, even in lands that have long since forsaken the Legacies, Soviseri is a month of political action. Most years, this simply means annual elections; for the faithful, organizations and governments big and small take this opportunity to bask in the wisdom of the Sovereign while reassessing their leadership and strategies, while the more secular simply see it as a convenient waymark on the yearly calendar. Soviseri allows them to face the remainder of the cycle with fresh eyes.

Most years, these customs will pass uneventfully, barring the moderate confusion that can result when too many leaderships change at once. This year, however, is not like others: for the one that considers themself the most sovereign of sovereigns has witnessed the seeds of revolt take root in the most fertile soil. Though they have not yet begun to sprout, let alone flourish, the Regent knows full well where such small things can lead. It's because of this that they intend to salt the earth and remind the cities of Horos the value of the 'peace' they've experienced while allowing them their reign.

This event will last from the 13th to the 25th of Soviseri.

INCLUDED EVENT PROMPTS
◆ THE REGENT'S ADDRESS: On the eve of the 13th, near the height of the Sovereign's Moon, all Aions will have their spirits summoned into a metaphysical court of the Regent's making. They'll only have enough time to seat themselves somewhere before the vision overtakes them, bringing them into the Regent's presence for what will be the first time for many. It is in this meeting of souls that the Regent will express their intent to punish the Pleroma's supporters in Godsblood and Venera, and to declare that it will be at the hands of their Kenoma followers. The Pleroma will be able to leave the communion unharmed, but the message is clear: without intervention, Godsblood and Venera will suffer.

◆ AN EXECUTION (GODSBLOOD): The 15th would normally be a day of public debates and speeches, a time for those in power to prove their worth in full sight of the Sovereign, but all of that will be thrown into discord at the public announcement that Vaeka Lovenskol is to face public execution for her crimes against the Regent. What crimes? Well, apparently she has been working as part of a resistant unit intent on aiding the Pleroma menace... a fact that any Pleroma in Greentruth will know to be true. Vaeka has been one of the brave souls working to keep the entry to Greentruth concealed, guiding what new Pleroma they become aware of to its gates.

How she was exposed is not exactly clear, but she is scheduled for a public execution in Godsblood's main square on the 20th. That means there are five days to snatch her from the Kenoma sent to guard her, lest she be made an example to her people.

◆ TRIMMING THE VINE (VENERA): While the execution in Godsblood is a public affair, what happens Venera is far more insidious. Despite the meek and escapist nature of its citizens, a spark has been lit beneath the surface, spurred by the Aion's actions within the city during the Innocence's contagion, as well as the Achamite's and Hylician's inaction. Some Venerans that were either spotted supporting the Pleroma or that seek to resist the Regent's will have been rooted out, and will be made to pay for their transgressions by the Kenoma first and foremost.

From the 15th to the 25th, the Kenoma will be ordered to work their way through a hit list of sorts, finding and imprisoning Veneran troublemakers, with the intent of essentially 'disappearing' them. Prisoners will be held for a day or so after capture for a meaningless trial by the Achamites present, and then be executed.

◆ MARCHING ORDERS (KENOMA): As the Regent has observed there is a finite limit to what the Kenoma will do without orders, they are now being explicit; all Kenoma are required to participate in the subjugation of either Godsblood or Venera during these activities. Whether or not Kenoma players are available to play out things on an OOC level, all must be at least handwaved to ICly participate in this mission by signing up for duty in either Venera or Godsblood down below. Failure to perform IC will be met with IC punishment.

In addition to their mission duties, the Regent is also ordering all their Kenoma to attempt to lure out and capture as many Pleroma as possible. How they go about this is up to each individual, but the Regent expects that most Pleroma will not be able to resist making an appearance at either location.

SYRLYA (champion) + YUYA (lover) | PLEROMA

Oh boy oh boy

SYRLYA is going to be my main focus on this event as the most battle ready and most ready to get in PvP with Kenoma. He has illusion and stealth abilities which would be super beneficial for getting people out of danger by diversion or invisibility. So, currently I'm leaning towards Godsblood to save their buddy resistance member(s?). Currently offering:

- PVP WITH KENOMA. He is so prepared to fight. I'm not immediately planning to have him get killed or focus on killing--his priority will be getting their people out of there. HOWEVER Syrlya is not above trying and capturing (or... crushing) a shard, so let me know if that's something you'd interested in specifically interested in, either with successful or unsuccessful shard claiming. He's here to just be a pest.
- RESCUE MISSION. As noted above he has skills that would be useful for saving Vaeka so he'll offer himself first and foremost for assisting in intercepting her from the Kenoma, and also getting her to safety without the Kenoma just tailing her and finding more resistance/the portal. Because that would be bad.
- PLEROMA SUPPORT. He'll also readily fight alongside/defend any Pleroma needing assistance. He is on one side here.

YUYA is... a lot less certain what I'm doing because he can't fight for beans. Most likely he'll instead be stationed wherever the Pleroma decide to evacuate any supporters to help provide them with comfort. If he goes anywhere it'll probably be Venera where he can maybe help evacuate people before any Kenoma catch up.

Any sort of conflict with Yuya will require some plotting because he's pretty defenseless so I'll need to work out an escape/rescue. He does have an ability to spread the Innocence contagion effects, but that'll be a last result because he hasn't been wanting to let people know he can do that in case they take it the wrong way.

PVP!!

I'm trying to think about what would be the best way to go about this as a first meeting for Amos and Syrlya, so like, maybe not something majorly consequential since the emotional payoff wouldn't be there, but something where they could both get out of the situation relatively unscathed but with greater awareness of one another/setting the stage to be Enemies? I'm thinking something tied in with the rescue mission because that works better considering Syrlya's stealth abilities vs. Amos just spotting him, haha, though fighting off Amos as Pleroma support would probably work really well too if anyone else wants to get involved.

PVP-wise, Amos is best at just straight up direct, close-range fighting — is that something Syrlya would want to avoid, since it sounds like his strengths are less geared towards frontline kinda stuff?

PvP!!!

Syrlya is actually mainly a close range fighter, so they'd both probably go for melee fighting tbh (except Syr has a sword). IT's pretty flexible whether he's going to be focused on the actual freeing and escorting her or straight up combat but we can definitely fit a physical confrontation in there since, even if it's the former, Syrlya will want to prevent anyone following them from being able to track them to the Greentruth portal.

Since Godsblood is only 15th-20th there's probably some room before and after the whole rescue attempt for more fighting around Godsblood too, if Amos sticks around to try and round up Pleroma.

Amos is running into so many people with a sword lmao... Buddy's gonna get pretty cut up, nice. That'll probably put him a bit more on the defensive as a straight up brawler but he'll probably have some decent armour/be able to get some blows in.

I have nooooo idea how the timeline stuff is shaking out right now but actually, I'd love to do something with Syrlya holding Amos off from being able to find the Greentruth portal! So that could potentially be after whatever happens with the NPC, with Amos wanting to round up more Pleroma... but like, potentially fuck Amos up enough that he knows there's something Pleroma don't want him/any Kenoma to see, even if he has absolutely no clue what or where it is kinda thing.

WHAT CAN THEY SAY it's an effective weapon.

Regardless how the rescue attempt goes Syrlya will definitely be aiming to make staying in Godsblood a real pain in the ass for the Kenoma, so they can definitely have more of a 1v1 after they've already crossed paths while trying to free Vaeka. Amos could def get the impression Syr is trying to keep them occupied, whether it's covering for other Pleroma or Something Else.

They're not even gonna learn each others names just go straight to brawling, lol.

You know what's more effective?? gun. what a shame Amos doesn't have one of those yet

I do want Amos to stick around in Godsblood a little after execution day, regardless of what happens, because he's got a gun to check up on so this works great for me! He'll still be skulking around regardless so he can come across Syrlya (potentially again depending on how battle plans etc shake out) and have him force Amos to essentially chase his tail. No secrets even remotely given away, just the hint that something sus is up... though some of this might depend on what the fallout in Godsblood is but I'm sure that's something we can roll with!

and hahaha, in a way, that really is respect

YEAH that works! Either way it goes syr is gonna be concerned about kenoma sussing out other rebels, especially if amos is wandering too close to the general portal area.

Also I have confirmation that Syrlya is robbing and NPC for their sword and shield so Amos is free to notice he's got achamite weapons despite definitely being a pleroma aion (he didn't kill anyone) (for once) (it's fine)
baltimores: (078; you sure)

[personal profile] baltimores 2022-07-14 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh this works so perfectly for me... Amos is definitely gonna be sus about Achamite weapons on a Pleromie so that's just extra motivation for him to confront him too/easy to draw him away if he's getting a little too close to the Greentruth portal for comfort... though he's gonna be a bit beat up by what was supposed to be execution day so Syrlya should also be able to have the upper hand here in general dghdgk. Amos is trying his best

Plus considering Syrlya's role in freeing Vaeka and how close Amos was to her on day 5 they should have seen each other before so what's a little rematch among enemies :)

Yes! We can handwave they may have come to brief blows in all that chaos. Syr will probably be holding back a bit on round two as well due to injuries + trying to be hard to catch to drag Amos around, so they are both Doing Their Best and maybe have some space to yell at each other as a result.

oh my god I love the idea of them being tired enough from the previous days that they can do more talking/yelling than they otherwise would've. absolutely perfect, I'm down

Would Yuya wanna help out with the coordinated evacuation/relocation effort? :3c The post is over here: https://aionooc.dreamwidth.org/5541.html?thread=2599845#cmt2599845
