CHARACTER PITCH: Effortlessly charming and friendly, Kaeya is voted "top candidate for grandson-in-law" because of his affable personality, loved and adored by the citizens of Mondstadt. Those closest to him tell a different story: you can only trust half of what Kaeya says at best, and he can be a bit shady given his tendency to never reveal what he's truly thinking or feeling no matter what the situation is. A self-proclaimed antihero with an attitude. He is ruthlessly clever, a master manipulator and liar who is well-versed in treating friend and foe alike as though they are merely pieces on a chessboard. The end justifies the means, and for Kaeya, it hardly matters if others find this perspective a bit careless. He does everything for the good of Mondstadt and its people despite his questionable methods, so at the end of the day, he is still a reliable ally. Most don't realize, however, that Kaeya is one of the remaining survivors of the fallen nation called Khaenri'ah. Only time will tell if fate will be cruel and force him to make a choice: does he remain loyal to Khaenri'ah, the nation who considers him to be their last hope, or will he fight for Mondstadt, the city that he finds comfort in, somewhere he finally belongs? Not even Kaeya himself knows the answer.

◆ EVERYONE. I know, I know; it's a cop-out. But Kaeya is generally easy to work with all sorts of people — no matter if they're good or bad. He's as friendly as one can be, charming and flirtatious as the best of them, so if you want a guy who's fun to be around, Kaeya is your man. On the flipside, he's a big liar who makes everyone second guess what he's thinking/feeling. You can never truly tell what's on Kaeya's mind because he smiles through it all, laughing it off if you hit his issues (and boy, does he have so many of them) right on the mark.

◆ FRENEMIES. These are Kaeya's favourite people. He doesn't act any differently towards them, but man, he knows how to make anyone feel appreciated even if they're his/his allies' enemies. Kaeya is known to throw feasts for the Fatui living in Mondstadt even if they're the antagonists, 'cause YOU KNOW... it's fun. It's fine.

◆ STOIC/ALOOF/LONER TYPES. Listen. Kaeya loves annoying these types. Let him at 'em. He's well-versed in talking to brick walls so if you ever need someone to be a nuisance, he'll be there. On the flipside, he can also help draw them out of their shells more. Or their comfort zones. He's very patient, honestly.

◆ DRINKING BUDDIES. This is pretty self-explanatory but Kaeya loves a good drink. Good company while drinking good wine? Even better. He also likes to frequent local bars/taverns because that's where loose lips like to talk. Catch him quietly drinking wine while he listens to all conversations going on, 'cause he likes to be in the know-how.

◆ LIARS/SCHEMERS. Kaeya's shady, so ofc he's gonna get along with other shady types. If you want someone you can will never have a good reason to trust, just hit him up. Maybe they can even scheme together or something. (Bad idea.)

◆ FOUND FAMILY. So Kaeya has been abandoned twice: first, by his biological father, and then again by his sworn brother (after the death of Master Crepus). I think it would be nice if he manages to find people he can open up to and be honest with, no matter which side they're on. For all his charm and flair, he's incredibly lonely, lmao, so pls give him found family. This is hard mode but I want it anyway. :'(

◆ CHARMER & FLIRT. Kaeya is a charming flirt, and if he thinks you're beautiful, he will let you know. And maybe offer to buy you a drink or two. He doesn't tend to bother with anyone he doesn't find interesting or intriguing so don't worry. He's not a tryhard... thankfully... One night stands are on the table if there's chemistry too.

◆ BIG BROTHER. Yeah, so... even the shady guy has a brotherly side to him. He's more likely to show this around younger folks, or those who need more guidance, even if he's going to be a bit questionable with giving out encouragement. He likes to encourage a young girl's tendencies to blow stuff up by helping her do it behind the other adults' backs, but y'know. At least he's gonna make sure they're doing it safely!! Probably.

◆ BAD INFLUENCE. ... Which ties into this. If your character needs someone who will encourage them to do questionable stuff, Kaeya's perfect for that too. He won't judge if you need to uh, hurt people or whatever every now and then. Or be a bit more reckless than usual. Sometimes it's necessary!

◆ ANTIHERO? ANTAGONIST? Technically, he's not a villain, but he will play the part of a loyal follower to the Regent pretty well, especially if he wants to come across as sincere. Initially he'd be trying to play double-agent but then realize this is a Bad Idea. Not to mention, the Kenoma can latch onto many cracks in his personality so it won't take long before he buys into the whole "let's unmake this world" gig. The worst is he wouldn't hesitate to give any of his friends (no matter what side) a hard time figuring out his true motivations 'cause he's the best liar. Plus, he just likes putting people into high-stress situations, questioning their morals, motivations, etcetera. Some say he takes pleasure in that, which is... hello???

PLOT HOOKS:

◆ LET ME BUY YOU A DRINK. Pretty self-explanatory. Kaeya can be usually found in one of the local taverns, nursing a drink as he observes the crowd. He isn't shy when it comes to approaching people he finds interesting, and he's more than happy to strike a conversation if he finds you looking his way. After all, alcohol tastes better in good company, right?

◆ NEED A HELPING HAND? Just because he's from Kenoma doesn't mean he's above helping others. He's still a knight at the end of the day, so you can catch him doing random errands for the elderly or teaching youngsters how to fight properly, etcetera. He'll even help with paperwork if you're drowning with it, even if he makes a show out of hating this stuff.

◆ I TRUSTED YOU. This is more of a long-term want but I think it'd be neat if there are people whose trusts Kaeya can break in the distant future by carrying out the Regent's wishes. If they trust him, and he decides to ruin it in the end... it would be neat. But will require a lot of long-term planning to make the pay off worth it, I think! Ofc, this can be done in reverse too — Kaeya finally ends up learning to trust someone, only to get backstabbed. :') Either scenario can work.

EVENT PLANS: i'll be making a mingle log at some point (hopefully later today!) but mostly kaeya's just gonna go exploring in achamoth...

◆ A DEITY'S WELCOME. This is going to be self-indulgent but we're gonna play Dress Up Kaeya in his shiny new quarters!! Maybe his new retainer will show up for a cameo too but for the most part... help him figure out what to wear that's appropriate for exploration.

◆ EXPLORATION. Uh, who wants a shopping buddy? He'll even carry the bags. But honestly, he'll probably be pub crawling... Gotta figure out where in Achamoth has the best wine! (Stop this madness.)
