In all seriousness it could KIND OF go either way, and it's highly dependent on whatever vibe Matt manages to get from Rand. Like, I can see if Rand is trying to target Tier 2s/Known Problems and he spots this miserable fluffy-haired guy in the fight, they might manage to eke out a moment that leaves Matt with genuine affection for him (before he tries to attack Rand or other Pleromies with assorted dark magics).
