CHARACTER
NAME: Minegishi Gen CANON: Boy's Abyss LEGACY: Lover SECT: Kenoma
CHARACTER PITCH:
The obligatory shitty delinquent bully that shows up in every small-town highschool story. But since the story he's from is a depressing, melodramatic take on a harem anime, he doubles as the tsun-heavy-tsundere, unhealthily devoted, endlessly pining, heavily-closested gay(?) option. He's still a shitty person, no question, but there's Reasons™ for it. (Like ✨incredible childhood trauma✨! Also some really toxic influences.) The author compares him to Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid, which says a lot about his vibes. (Bad. His vibes are bad.)
DESIRED CR:
The cop-out answer here, of course, is anything! I truly adore all flavors of CR, and would love to plaster myself against any open character! But two specific niches that will get him acting in a slightly less antagonistic fashion are:
► fellow normies -- though he's changed a fair bit after almost several months in-game (magic abilities! lost a limb! incredible trauma!) Gen is ultimately still a teenage boy who wanted to be a normal highschooler and never really got the chance for it. As such, he's just a touch quicker to warm up to people who he thinks are normies -- people out of their depths and confused by these circumstances, or are less-accustomed to magic/sci-fi shenanigans. He'll also be softer on people closer to his age, regardless of faction, especially if they show hints of either being normies or hailing from Japan, so I'd love to take advantage of that and have him be slightly less of an asshole!
► functional adults (or just incredibly patient folks) -- Gen's kind of a massive piece of shit! But he's also a teenager hailing from an incredibly dysfunctional small town full of toxic relationships (it's a long story), and it's not at all subtle that he has Massive Issues instead of just being a shit for the sake of being a shit. Though he's come to know a few positive influences since arriving in Horos, I'd still love the chance for him to encounter some more people willing to either see past his abrasive attitude, or give him a second chance despite it, and foster CR in that direction. Despite everything he's an incredibly loyal creature once someone wins him over; if you manage to get past his prickly exterior, he's ride or die for you, baybee.
OFFERED CR:
► negative CR of all flavors! -- Gen is a confrontational, shitty, abrasive, foul-mouthed piece of work. And worst of all ... (lowers voice dramatically) a teenager. He can and will pick fights with anyone regardless of faction, and though he's more likely to escalate to physical violence with a Pleroma -- as in, he will happily attack most unfamiliar Pleroma unprovoked if the circumstances allow for it -- that doesn't mean he'll hold back on his ire for Kenoma. For anyone looking to foster either a testy teeth-gritted sort of alliance (for fellow Kenoma) or just have a Cracker-Eating Bitch from the Kenoma that can be attacked on sight (for any Pleroma), he's your man! I'm more than happy to figure out circumstances to get a nice little mutual (or one-sided, if you'd like?) antagonistic relationship going!
► slow-burn loyalty -- As said above, Gen is a horrible youth (truly the most awful category of human being), but once he decides that he likes someone, that opinion is incredibly hard to sway. Though he's generally bristly and aggressive and very defensive about showing any vulnerabilities, he's also quite a lonely and heartbroken young man who can ultimately be won over with prolonged patience and kind words. Any loyalties that he does foster are likely to persist long-term (regardless of what happens between the factions, and regardless of what awful things your character might end up doing because of faction tensions), and I'd love to get to explore that with more characters who are either patient enough to handle this horrible feral dog of a teenager, or can just sense that there is something deeply wrong with this asshole that probably warrants a closer look.
PLOT HOOKS:
► Though I said up there that Gen is a Kenoma, he actually has a defection tentatively planned for after this month's event! The exact details need a little ironing out, but after months of abiding by the Regent's orders, he'll probably hit his limit with this month's event and try to flee from the Kenoma to ... who knows, maybe just go be a hermit in the woods or something. (No, just kidding.) (Maybe.) If anyone would like to either have some budding CR with him that can go wry upon this heinous betrayal (for Kenoma) or encounter him as an enemy only to then hear about him being a turncoat (for Pleroma), or anything in between, I am more than up for it!
► Otherwise, up until the he can probably be found training around the grounds of the Citadel to blow off a lot of pent-up stress and try to tire himself out. He's always willing to spar with new folks, because throwing hands with people is truly the healthiest way of getting to know them (no), whether it be physical combat or through magic! Alternatively, he can be found bumming around the Citadel in very restless fashion, and I am more than happy to jam him in any appropriate place to facilitate some cute new CR! (He will be 5% nicer to people who will smoke with him. So few people are Achamoth are fellow smokers, smh.)
EVENT PLANS: I can't claim to have any specific event plans at the moment, save that Gen is likely to end the event fleeing from Achamoth and on the run. Up until then he'll probably be preparing himself in grim fashion for some more PVP that he never asked for as a normie highschooler. More than open to chitchat about any possibilities!
ANYTHING ELSE? Given his generally shitty nature and some CWs he might touch upon, I do have a combination HMD/opt-out post right here, so I'd very much appreciate it if you gave it a gander, and let me know if there's anything I should avoid! Otherwise, here's his general vibes:
