"Ah, yes," she said, her tone turned sad. "The dream," a beat, then. Considering. It's difficult to describe what had supposedly happened to their homes, without falling into despair, herself. She can feel it, that darkness, creeping on the edge of her perception.

When she'd walked a similar dream, there had been two of her, two paths, the choice -- she'd taken both, and neither were the path she wanted.

When one is presented with two paths, after all, there is often... a third path, that one has not been presented. Why else provide only two options?

"Some will tell you that they believe that their world is gone. Some hold out hope, that their world remains. It will be your choice, as to what you believe."

Akua herself, of course, hadn't dared hope. Unsurprising, of course. She'd just been on the verge of her own continent being decimated. Perhaps things really had gone sideways.
