[ As Havoc offers her apology, Sebastian does look up to meet her eyes. Though his expression is still generally a placid, pleasant neutral, there's a note to it that's probably not wholly unfamiliar to her. His gaze is hardly idle, but instead watching. Searching for something, maybe. It's an expression that would be perfectly at home on one of the more social Contractors' faces.

(There's some irony that they're both certainly missing about a Contractor being so similar to a demon.)

But his gaze drops back down to his work, and feeling that there's no need to reset bone, he takes up the task of bandaging up her fingers. He's still just as careful, but dutiful in wrapping up her fingers tightly so that the adjacent, unbroken ones essentially act as splints. ]

There is no need to apologize. It is quite a thing, the Kenoma.

[ An understatement for her, but perfectly accurate for him. As soon as he had drunk it down, he understood why it had been bestowed the name it had. In the kenoma resides deceptive, transitory things, the abyss that swallows all, as Valentinus had described it. It was a metaphor, then. Here, it's metaphor given form. Of course any creature that wasn't already a resident of that abyss would struggle with it.

It's why he's curious. Though it wasn't something he was capable of feeling, he understood human emotion well enough, but especially their dark, fearful feelings. She admits she was scared, which he knows is true, but he doesn't get the sense now that this calm acceptance is the sort that comes naturally, so to speak. She "won't care at all", wasn't it? ]

Are you scared now?
