Ryunosuke's eyes briefly go to their typical alarmed width, flicking briefly towards his bandages before going back to Holmes's face.
"Ah, that's, um..."
He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.
"They're actually... Both a part of the same story? If you can believe that," he half half chuckles, half groans. His scaly tail swishes nervously across the sand. He clears his throat, trying to regain some more of his composure before suggesting:
"Let's... Let's find somewhere to sit. I can fetch us something to eat while we talk."
Once they've found a suitably dry and comfortable spot to rest, Ryunosuke hurries to the supply table and back with a haste that even exceeds his usual jumpy energy, as if he's worried Holmes might up and disappear on him again while his back is turned. And even after they're both seated, he finds he's still not quite sure where to start. He can't explain his physical changes without explaining... Everything else. And then there's the fact that he's still processing the shock...
"I... I still can't believe you're really here," he says in a small voice. He keeps looking at Holmes with an uncharacteristic amount of... Reverence, almost. Which might get unsettling but, don't worry, he'll knock it off and remember to keep Holmes' ego in check soon enough. "It's been... Months since I've seen anyone from home..."
