undertheweight: (rueful)

There is at least an occasional attempt to hold himself accountable in Wrathion's head. They don't always fail. And surely, Anduin tends to bring out the dragon's better qualities. Inasmuch as he's chided the Young Lion on his softer outlook in the past, when Wrathion thinks about it, he could not deny that Anduin's approach delivered results.

Perhaps it truly was better to catch flies with honey.

Anduin's next words shake Wrathion from his thoughts, and he chuckles softly. Even he isn't immune to the passage of time, and at the moment, that is so very obvious. But he can smell the fear on Anduin, now, and that makes him less bemused and more...sad. What had begun as a grin closes slowly. Carefully. As if the dragon has not taken great care already. It's telling.

"I grew up." That's obvious. "You aren't the boy I met in Pandaria, either, you know." That statement is a bit rueful, regardless of its truth. And even though he wants to say he'd never hurt Anduin, Wrathion knows the reality of their situation.

"It's not my fangs and claws you need to worry about." His tone is a bit dry, now, but he knows Anduin is quite clever enough to get the dragon's meaning.
