[He didn't see her at the Battle for Garreg Mach, but that was such an enormous battle and the Imperial forces were so immense, it would be impossible to spot a few Black Eagles dotted here and there among their forces. At the same time, she didn't have any obligation to join Edelgard, beyond maybe friendship -- she wasn't a noble with the related duties to serve the Emperor, but someone who had come to the Academy, enrolled of her own volition, and who could have backed away any time she wanted to rejoin the quieter life of a commoner. As quiet as it would get in wartime, anyway.
If he at least knows her intentions, what she thinks of him beyond a former school acquaintance, at least he'll know how to proceed going forward.]
