settingup: (i won't give up)

[ At least this time the kid Amos found doesn't have a magical mentor waiting in the wings to swoop down and attack anyone trying to steal her student away.

Not that Amos knows that. These two haven't even had a conversation about whether or not Atsumu has any magic (he absolutely doesn't), and Atsumu's still trying to wrap his head around this whole mess to begin with. Everything about this feels beyond surreal, and despite the multiple face slaps and inability to wake up, he's still struggling with the idea that he's stumbled ass backwards into another world.

What he does know is that the 'beverage' that Amos is offering him looks putrid, and whatever safety his strange man is offering him doesn't seem worth it to sip something that might really mess him up. He's a boy who prefers to watch sports on TV to fantasy movies, but he's still seen 'em. You drink an unknown potion, and who knows what's going to happen to you?

Besides, the clear difference in their situations doesn't dawn on him the way he should. He's been a big guy for a long time, taller and more muscular than most of the adults he knows, and that can give a guy a real false sense of security in the world around him. Not a lot of people on the street are going to go out of their way to pick a fight with him, and even though Amos doesn't look like a pushover at all, the fact that he'd use force on him hasn't really set in.

He recoils from the vial, giving Amos a disgruntled look at his refusal to accept Atsumu's clear pass on that one.

I ain't doin' it at all!

[ And with that he reaches up and tries to push Amos' arm away. Give it up, buddy. He's not interested in your evil energy drink. ]
