Pretty sure I'll be sending Matt to VENERA.

Um ... omg you guys ... shit is getting real. Here are some thoughts as of right now:

Matt does not really want to do secret police work!!! He's fully on board for turning the universe off and then turning it back on, but this feels like ... a distraction? Like political busywork? If they're destroying the world why does it matter if some people are grumbling about the Regent? Left to his own devices, he'll probably pursue hit list folks, but in a lackluster manner that doesn't really net any of them.

There are opportunities here for Kenoma to convince him to commit to secret policing, either through argument or more of a get in loser we're going kidnapping vibe. There are also opportunities for Pleromies or disobedient Kenoma friends to persuade him to do the opposite of that.

Matt has a variety of magic spells at his disposal that seem germane to this event, including: invisibility, trapping people in magic shield bubbles, tracking them on a map/in person if they're close enough, compelling honest answers to questions aka "oops, all interrogation," creating a charisma field that keeps people from moving or acting against him due to fear, affection, or lassitude. CAN WE GET HIM TO USE ANY OF THEM, that's the question! Please, please come at me with attempts to pressure Matt into using his powers for good or ill.

I may or may not have additional ideas once I learn the results of Matt's scry with Xishen. (Yikes!!!)
