Estinien isn't a fan of putting words above action, even though he has oft reassured himself during this trial that he would find some way to kill these people. How much of it, at this point, is simply an effort to cope is increasingly unclear to him. Perhaps it's the same for this wizard.

"Something has changed in us," he says, rather than blustering about what he'd like to do. He assumes this man is probably astute enough to guess what Estinien would like to be doing, were he free to do so. "This world... 'tis different from what I've known, despite the many ways it's the same."

He shakes his head.

"I cannot feel the aether, either in myself or in others. It's as if we've been undone."
