coupris: (a sailor trod this ground)

[The occultish mutterings have stuck to the back of Kim's mind, often swirling to the surface when he tried to sleep beside the fire at night. This could all be the lead up to one great sacrifice, but he remembered the nervous state of the soldiers at his shrine. Why behave like that towards a pathetic sight of naked, freezing people who can barely stand? From the other arrivals, he's gathered that no one was really able to come out swinging, and no one had been killed.

These soldiers, to some extent, are afraid of them. The only way to find out why is to see this through.]

Of course I am.

[Kim's voice is as soft as always, though it takes a harder edge now. The days of indignity have settled into his stomach like hot rocks, and bile starts to rise the moment he's carelessly tossed a ration or shoved onto a boat.

He sighs and looks at Gen. Fuzzy as he is, the look is unmistakable. That was the vitriol he remembered best, understood most. More often than not, there was never a balm for it.]

Say enough of us start acting up that they begin disciplining us as a whole to discourage it. Do you want to be responsible for that?
