Usually being so openly dismissed would cause any other person to leave. It seems this is not one of those cases.
Having to confront horrors, impossibilities, and a puzzling new place that he can't 'see' properly makes him much less 'accomodating' than he might usually be when presented with something mildly inconvenient. So he turns again and says with obvious frustration: "Speak your mind, boy, what is it?"
