"As you wish, oh esteemed Emet-Selch." A warm hand claps his shoulder, taking care with their claws before they flicked their ears forward and turned their gaze once more to their surroundings.
"I will say, I mislike the look of this place." Spoken as casually as if speaking of the weather, their nose scrunches at the sight of the crystalline cocoons, the pale tip wriggling before Mykha turns away with a shake of their head. For some reason it stirred up memories of the facilities they'd pushed through; with rows of tanks full of captives forced to endure horrible experiments. The fact that even Emet-Selch had been brought here was concerning on top of it all, though they found themselves wondering if they'd been pulled across time again as well as to what was clearly a whole new world.
Plucking a piece of crystalline shell from Emet's back, they touched the flat of the shard to their tongue, humming softly. No, it was not any substance they recognized, for certain, and they turned the piece over in their claws, studying the way it caught the light.
"'Tis unlike any crystal I have seen, though I am not surprised. Who has heard of crystals that can house living things like an egg would?" True they'd found crystals that had trapped fluids in them when they'd mined for ore before, but this was different by far. Peering at the larger crystals housing other sleepers, they keep their hands to themselves, loathe to see if they could wake the others. Like as not there was a reason they had to hatch the way they did. The faintest trace of a frown marred their features as they took another look at the cavern walls.
"And me without my tools...Hades, have you ever seen crystals such as these? In any of the reflections, mayhaps?"
