Hythlodaeus can almost feel the moment Emet-Selch begins to cave. That, at least, hasn't been colored by whatever strangeness is in the air between them. He lets out a breath as soon as he sees the resignation start to settle into his friend's features, raising a hand to not-so-subtly stifle a chuckle as Emet-Selch finally relents.
"A true beacon of hospitality," he probably shouldn't sound this cheerful given their current circumstances, but Hythlodaeus never did lose that tone, even in the midst of their world falling apart. Even as the aether withered and died and whispers in the streets turned to sacrifices. "Who am I to turn down such a heartfelt offer?"
It's a tease, one that's as easy and familiar as breathing to Hythlodaeus, so he doesn't even pause before walking past Emet-Selch to settle on the ground by the fire with a quiet sigh, rolling his shoulders as he settles, exhaustion still wreaking havoc on his body in a way he's not used to. But he doesn't even wait before he begins talking, sure that even if Emet-Selch busies himself in a way that makes it look like he's not paying attention, he most certainly is.
"I made my way here the way most people seem to have. I was in Amaurot, and then I was... well, asleep is the easiest way to describe it. Walking endlessly in the light until I woke up encased in some form of crystal."
