Estinien draws his own conclusions. If they were clothed they almost certainly weren't hatched in the shrine like the rest of them had been. Naturally, his first thought on the subject is of the darker side.

"Perhaps they had unexpected competition," he says. "Whatever we are to them, we must be of value for them to put in so much effort."
