[ Amos takes a moment when Estinien looks upwards, and then joins him.

After Ilus, he's familiar with the idea of looking up at an unfamiliar sky. Doesn't stop his brain from trying to find old patterns, though. Patterns he couldn't find the last time he was on Earth, because the entire planet was still too fucked over, its atmosphere along with it, to the point where the sun could have been mistaken for the moon.

He's not sure how he feels about getting to look up again and see something. He'd just been on his way back up, set to leave Earth behind forever. And he's done that, he supposes — but he's still stuck down a gravity well. Probably will be for however much longer his life ends up lasting. ]

Yeah. Me too.

[ Except his voice is blank, empty. There's maybe an undertone of sadness there. The Roci's gone, her crew along with it. He hasn't seen them in months. He never will again.

So Amos takes a moment to let that notion sink in. Exhales. And it's gone. ]

Kinda feels like a sick joke that I survived. [ He pauses, taking a cursory glance around the camp. At their new reality. Captured, possibly enslaved, and he's really not interested in finding out what's next, even though that's all there is. ] Fuck. Whole thing's just shit now, isn't it.
