"Townsfolk?" She thinks back to the bodies that were strewn across the woodland from which she emerged. They were armored, but in leathers and furs rather than the mail and metal of their assailants. She wouldn't call them townsfolk...more like scouts or a local infantry.
"Not soldiers...though our guards eventually collected you all the same."
What does that mean?
"Probably wise," she admits, despite the fact that she had resisted almost immediately and was subsequently very quickly subdued. There is also a risk in Meteion in particular being treated poorly or seeing such violence, a risk she would rather avoid if possible. "They have been marginally more accommodating when we cooperate."
