You are welcome to change your Legacy for your actually app! The only consequence of changing it would be that logistically you wouldn't be able to keep any events happening in the shrine itself, since canonically your character would have been somewhere else.
Having variety is definitely ideal! We were hoping to have an even spread - and while we have seen each Legacy represented so far, there is definitely a heavy slant to a handful of particular ones. I've been wondering if there is a way to better incentivize other Legacies, but ultimately some clumping will be inevitable just on account of which character archetypes are most popular in media.
On the mod side, the main advantage to having each Legacy represented is that various worldbuilding aspects and NPCs will be tied to particular Legacies, and so if we are completely lacking in certain ones it may mean that there's nobody to take advantage of those hooks.
