If this were Calernia, in the moment before she awoke? Akua would have immediately made the decision. She would have agreed without even a question. That was, after all, what the Bard had proposed. That was the entire reason Akua had snapped the Fetters around her wrist.

Of course there are. [ She snapped, her own impatience showed through, as she tightened the blanket around her shoulders.] They are destroyed, as our dreams were kind enough to tell us.

[ Akua paused, and there it was, that despair that settled into her chest. The one that spoke to being pulled at just the wrong time for that to be the right argument. ]

It's a cruel irony, to wake up here after my world was rendered asunder. What is there to preserve?

[ She teetered, on that edge. Akua Sahelian had seen both dreams. She felt it in her, that war, the darkness that threatened to overtake her, that despair that she'd given up everything, worked so hard to thread that needle toward redemption, only to find herself here, and Calernia obliterated. ]
