Why not someone of more esteem, like a noble or an Archon? Thoma didn't even have enough Mora saved up that kidnapping him would actually improve anyone's quality of life... not unless they were trying to hurt the lord and lady of the house indirectly.

I think with a sharp enough crystal, it might make for a good knife, though I can't say I'm all that skilled at knife-wielding. My go-to weapon is a spear. How about you?
