YEAH so long story short, there are two halves to the One Power, divided by gender. Thousands of years ago the big bad of her canon tainted the male half so all male channelers eventually go insane -- at that time it was instantaneous and the reason the world got thrown back thousands of years technologically and politically is because all the male channelers fucked it up in their madness ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They're such a danger that the Aes Sedai (the all-female magical order she's a part of) have an entire group dedicated to finding and gentling male channelers -- removing their ability to use magic.

So yep! She's never run into a male magic user who wasn't either insane or in the process of becoming so, at least not by this point.
